What door-to-door overseas removals includes

Door-to-door means we collect from your UK address, pack to export standard, ship by sea or air, handle customs paperwork at both ends, and deliver inside your new home abroad. You do not arrange separate freight, clearance agents, or local delivery teams.

This is different from port-to-port or depot-to-depot services where you organise collection or final delivery yourself. With a door-to-door move, one company is responsible for the whole chain.

Who uses door-to-door removals

Most of our door-to-door customers are families relocating for work, expats moving back to a home country, or retirees settling overseas. They want one company to manage the full move rather than coordinating freight, customs, and local delivery separately.

  • Families shipping a full household to the Middle East, Egypt, or Europe
  • Expats returning to the UK or moving to a new posting abroad
  • Couples and individuals relocating with furniture and personal belongings
  • Customers who want export-standard packing, not self-pack

Shipping mode depends on volume and urgency. Groupage suits smaller loads (3 to 25 cubic metres), a full container suits a complete home, and air freight covers urgent items that need to arrive in days rather than weeks. We recommend the right combination during the survey.

Popular destinations

  • Middle East. UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman
  • Egypt and North Africa
  • Europe by road and sea options
  • USA and Canada for part loads and full homes
  • Australia and New Zealand for long distance moves

How a door-to-door move works

Every door-to-door move follows the same stages. Your coordinator manages each one and keeps you updated. For a step-by-step guide to preparing your move, see our international moving checklist.

  1. Survey and quote. We assess volume by video call or home visit, then send a written quote listing what is and is not included
  2. Planning call. We agree collection dates, confirm access at both ends, and decide packing level
  3. Packing and collection. Our crew packs to export standard at your UK home. Every item is inventoried
  4. Shipping. Goods travel by groupage, full container, or air freight depending on volume and timeline
  5. Customs clearance. We prepare paperwork and manage clearance at the destination port or airport
  6. Delivery to your overseas home. Goods are delivered inside your new address. Unpacking is available if booked

The handover point matters. With door-to-door, our responsibility runs from your UK front door to the room placement in your overseas home. If anything is damaged or missing, there is one company to deal with.

Specialist add ons

“Clear quote and a named coordinator. Packing was organised and delivery matched the agreed schedule.” International move from the UK

Door-to-door vs port-to-port

Port-to-port means the shipping company delivers your goods to a port or warehouse abroad. You then arrange local transport and possibly a separate customs agent. It costs less upfront but adds coordination work and risk at the destination end.

Door-to-door means one company handles everything from your UK address to the room placement in your overseas home. You pay more, but there is a single point of contact and a single liability chain if something goes wrong.

Most of our household customers choose door-to-door because they are managing a relocation alongside jobs, visas, schools, and housing. Coordinating port collection and local crews in an unfamiliar country adds stress that a managed move removes.

Frequently asked questions

What does door-to-door overseas removals include

It covers collection from your UK home, export packing, shipping by sea or air, customs clearance at destination, and delivery with room placement in your overseas address. One coordinator manages the full chain.

How is door-to-door different from port-to-port

Port-to-port ends at the destination port. You then arrange local transport and customs clearance yourself. Door-to-door means we handle everything to your new front door.

Do you unpack at the destination

Unpacking is available as an add-on. We place furniture and boxes in the rooms you choose. Full unpacking and debris removal can be arranged at most destinations.

Is insurance included in door-to-door moves

Basic carrier liability is included. Full marine transit insurance is available and we recommend it for household relocations. We provide a quote for cover before you book.

Can I ship part of my home now and the rest later

Yes. Many customers send urgent items by air and follow with a sea shipment for the rest. We coordinate both under one booking.
